Cryosauna Complaints:
I get complaints every week from cryosauna owners who think I am the one to call to fix their problems. I am not here to babysit those that bought cryosaunas that I don't approve of. Most of these were bought way before I started my site. Most of the problems and complaints come from these unregulated cryosaunas people are buying from export sites getting them very cheap.
These cryosaunas that I get complaints about are 99% of the time brands I have never even heard of.
The biggest complaint is frostbite on brands that flow directly at the body instead of whirlpooling around it. The brands that always give me the most complaints are usually the ones that are at least 20 to 25 thousand dollars cheaper than the vortex types.
Beware: Some cryosaunas have a 3 year warranty and I have seen some go up to 5 years. This is total BS when they don't stand behind their warranties and go out of business. I have seen so many brands advertise on Google and once they sell their stock they imported, they shut down their site. The most expensive cryosauna on the market has a 1 year warranty. Longer warranties mean nothing to me. Usually, the warranties only are for manufacturer defects which 99.99% of the time the problem is the users fault and that usually won't be covered anyway.
Interior Cracking: Cracking of inside of cryosauna is probably the main thing people complain about. Some of the lower end cryosaunas are not tested for extreme cold. It is usually a cosmetic issue and it doesn't affect the cryosauna. I have not had any cracking complaints on PVC material.
Motherboards: This is the 2nd most complained about thing. The motherboards if out of warranty cost around $500 and it happens to some brands more than others.
Without evaporators: Cryosaunas without evaporators are the types I do not recommend
Nitrogen tank complaints: Tanks cost between 125 to 150. They hold around 230 to 250 liters of nitrogen. The big complaint is that some tanks lose around 5% to 8% of the total nitrogen in that tank per day just by sitting there. REally good nitrogen tanks lose about 1% to 2% per day but cost much more. I urge people to check the evaporation rate on whatever tank they get AND GET THIS IN WRITING. There are pros and cons to free standing nitrogen tanks. I rarely get complaints on Microbulk tanks that are permanently cemented into the ground. These hold around 450 to 3,000 liters. These are about 10 times the size as a free standing tank.
skin temp near the ankles: not the best way to measure.. try measuring near the shoulders and you get a number that is very disappointing and far from their maximum rated temperature.
Maintenance Complaints:
It really disrupts a cryotherapy business when a cryosauna is down for days or weeks.
